The capital city Colombo is a popular tourist destination in Asia. The Singal or Tamil crowd in the place represents the flavor of modern origin and ancient culture. The old fort in Colombo is the key landmark. It was built by the Portuguese in 1517 and was later beautified by the Dutch. From the north side of the tower, tourist can enjoy an overview shot of the President’s House and other landmarks like the Gordon Gardens and the old General Post Office.

Other places of attraction in Colombo are Gordon Gardens, Jami-ul-Alfar, the New and Old Kathiresan Kovils, St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Pettah’s bazaar.
